Piazza Cavour
Rimini - Centro storico
Piazza Cavour is the centre of daily life for people who live in Rimini. There are shops and cafè on one side and the other side is flanked by solemn palaces Podestà Palace, Arengo Palace and Garampi Palace.
At one end of the square, you can see what remains of the majestic neoclassical Galli Theatre, inaugurated by Giuseppe Verdi in 1857 and the old public fountain. The old fish market is on the left hand side of the square; it houses some enormous marble tables, which were used to sell the fish. Nowadays, they are used as a display area for artists or market sellers.
