St. Apollonia and the St. Valentine Fair
To commemorate the patron saint of Bellaria Igea Marina, Saint Apollonia of Alessandria, there will be many of the traditional and typical celebrations along with events, markets, food, exchange markets and exhibitions which will continue on until the end of the following week, dedicated to lovers, with a poetry competition and a themed menu in the restaurants in the city.
There will be entertainment, restaurant menus and special events also for Valentine’s Day.
Thursday the 9th will be dedicated to the liturgy from the Cathloic Church to the Saint, of uncertain Eygptian origins, venerated throughout Italy as the patron saint of dentists and orthodontists. His life was sad and painful according to what has been passed down over the years: when he was martyred in 259 ad, he was burnt at the stake but only after having all of his teeth pulled out.
On February 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, and 19 there will be events dedicated to the traditional Mora Romagnola pork with butchery demonstrations, food stands and the sale of local products.
February 11 and 12: a weekend dedicated to lovers, with themed menus in restaurants and the final events of the Saint Apollonia fair with shows, music, markets, a fun park, food, exchange market and expos.
