This cultural event dedicated to the illustrious citizen Umberto Boccioni, born over 100 years ago in Morciano di Romagna, near Rimini, takes its inspiration from Futurism, the avantguard Italian artistic movement that revolutionized all the arts - painting, sculpture, theater, poetry, literature, architecture, fashion, cooking, furniture - from 1909 to the end of the Second World War.
A futuristic look will take over the whole town, using the theme of speed and music with breathtaking shows, street artists, outdoor exhibitions, live music and dancing, stores, futuristic fashion shows, restaurants with futuristic menus, a Fantasy Village and artists.
Among the novelties this year is the 'Great Futurist Salon': art discussions with experts, teachers and critics together with pieces of poetry, theater and music, an exhibition dedicated to musical machines and an interdisciplinary project presented by the local schools.
The Futurist neighborhood 'Materia', which is a tribute to the painter and sculptor Umberto Boccioni, will become an urban street with writers, and stunt bikers.
Don't miss the parade of futuristic transportation, which will open the event on Friday, July 29 at 8.30pm and is open to all those who want to get a glimpse of the future.
