The world's longest New Year's Eve
The longest New Year's Eve covering the whole month of December and the beginning of January reaches its clou on 31st December with several events taking place in Rimini seaside area and historic centre.
It's an extraordinary chance to spend the Christmas time in the wonderful scenery of the sea in wintertime enjoying all the initiatives and proposals dedicated to Christmas and local traditions, art and culture, fun and entertainment.
The calender will be enriched with music concerts, dance performances and Christmas concerts: all kind of music will be represented, from jazz and blues to gothic metal and gospel, from traditional music to the lyric music.
As tradition, Rimini welcomes the New Year with a lyric opera in the Auditorium of the Convention Centre (Sunday 1st January with replica on Tuesday 3rd) This year is on schedule “la vedova allegra”.
The whole city will be the protagonist by hosting a rich calender of events. Music performances and exhibitions will be proposed in famous and suggestive venues in the historic centre and the seaside area, including new spaces such as the archaelogical site “The Surgeon’s House”, the Malatesta Temple and the worksite of the ancient Teatro Galli.
The New Year's celebrations in Rimini start with the great concert in piazzale Fellini: guest star Marco Mengoni.
To welcome the forthcoming 2014, at midnight, spectacular fireworks on the sea will enlighten the beach area soon after the concert in piazzale Fellini near the fascinating Grand Hotel of Fellini.
