    Sport and active holidays.
Golf, horse riding, trekking, mountain biking, cycling tourism, climbing, free climbing, sailing and motorcycling are some of the sports offered by the Rimini area. The places where sport can be practiced are extremely attractive and handy starting from the sea with windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing schools with the opportunity to hire boats and race in Rimini, Cattolica, Riccione and Bellaria Igea Marina. In this land of drivers, riders and engines, Misano World Circuit is one of the temples of two-wheel sports where it is possible to watch thrilling races or have fun on your own bike.

The most popular beach sports are beach volleyball, beach basketball, beach soccer and beach tennis. But the real protagonist of beach games is frisbee that each year, over Easter, during the spectacular Paganello tournament, attracts thousands of players from all over the world who come to take part in the Beach Ultimate World Cup and Acrobatic Frisbee, accompanied by music and shows.

Cycling tourism enthusiasts can count on a consortium of well-equipped bike hotels that attract numerous participants and races open to the public are held throughout the year. For mountain bikers the cycle paths along the Marecchia, Conca and Marano rivers are ideal for both amateurs and experts alike. The two valleys are also ideal for horse riding. In the Conca valley, there are stables in Coriano, Mondaino, Montescudo and San Giovanni in Marignano from where a number of paths wind their way into the countryside. There are stables in the Marecchia valley too, from Santarcangelo to Torriana and Novafeltria, and there are fascinating itineraries that link up with The Great Green Path that runs along the entire ridge of the Apennines between Emilia and the Marche.

Starting from the sea, it is possible to reach Sasso Simone and Simoncello Nature Reserve that has seven bridle paths and from where it is possible to reach accommodation facilities that offer stables for horses, as well as food for riders. The Marecchia valley is also a haven for free climbing and sport climbing thanks to its rocky cliffs and ravines.
There are so many places in Verucchio, San Leo, San Marino, Maiolo, Perticara and Pennabilli that an itinerary has been set up called the vertical Marecchia valley, which also has a climbing school.
This area has also become important for fly fishing and catch-and-release enthusiasts thanks to its clean waters, enchanting landscapes and the guarantee of a great catch. Angling is practiced in many lakes including the basins owned by the Italian Angling Federation in Poggio Berni, those in Igea Marina and the special areas in Coriano and many other towns.

Golf enthusiasts will find two important 18-hole golf courses; Rimini Villa Verucchio Golf Club and Riviera Golf Resort in San Giovanni in Marignano, each with a prestigious school, club house and other facilities.
There are exciting opportunities for trekking enthusiasts with marked paths in the main environmental areas such as near the Fauna Oasis of Torriana and Montebello, in Onferno Nature Reserve, where visitors will also find the caves of the same name, in Sasso Simone and Simoncello Nature Reserve and in the hills and on the plains too.
